HEALTHY TIPS
From Bob Greene:
A green salad with a little dressing isn't enough of a meal. Make sure you're not under-eating or you'll get hungry again right away.

Portion Pointers
Looking for a way to size up servings? You can:
• Invest in a food scale. These gadgets will tell you how much food weighs, so you can make sure you're eating the right amount.
• Use your hand. Don't have a scale? Different parts of your hand can be used as a guide for serving sizes. For example, 1 cup of pasta or rice is about the size of a woman's fist; 3 ounces of meat is the size of your palm; 1 ounce of cheese is the size of your thumb, and 1 teaspoon of oil is the size of the tip of your thumb.
• Evaluate everyday objects. Use common household objects for reference, including a deck of cards (the same size as 3 ounces of meat), a matchbook (roughly 1 ounce of meat), a tennis ball (about the size of 1 cup of potatoes, rice or pasta).
