There's more than one way to measure your progress, other than stepping on the dreaded scales! Your challenge is to try other ways of gauging your weight loss. For one, get a measuring tape and keep track of the number of inches you are losing. You can also try on an old, tight pair of pants each week to see how much better they fit!
Fit Fitness In
You might find this hard to believe, but government guidelines currently recommend at least 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity each day to ensure health and fitness. This is totally doable! Challenge yourself to meet this recommendation by making simple and easy adjustments to your day. There are plenty of times throughout the day when you can fit in a little more activity.
Check out my ideas below:
Busy at work? Get up and talk to your coworkers instead of e-mailing.
Running errands? Park farther from the store and get in a little walk.
Coming home from work? Get off the bus or train a stop earlier and walk home.
Watching TV? Get up to change the channel instead of using the remote.
Household chores? Do them yourself rather than hiring someone. If you make it a priority, you'll find a way to fit fitness in!
Make the Most of Every Moment
With our hectic lives, who has the time to stop and smell the roses? You do , or you should make the time to notice the richness of life! Appreciating a beautiful sunset or a child playing in the park helps you de-stress after a busy day and remember what is really important.
