Try Playing a Numbers Game
The most difficult muscle to work out is your brain. Yes, technically the gray matter is not a muscle, but the way you think during a workout often has a lot to do with what you will ultimately accomplish on a given day.

For example, the act of counting can have a huge influence when you're doing reps. If you start at one and have to count up to 20, the number of reps may seem huge: You may begin to feel discouraged, your muscles might begin to feel tired, and you won't finish your set. Instead, try counting down from 20. By the time you get to five, you'll realize you've already done 15 reps and you'll be empowered to push your way through to the end of the set.
You can also try counting to five, four times. Challenge yourself to find a counting system you like, or try a combination of these. Even seemingly silly mental tricks like these can make all the difference when it comes to getting the job done.

Musical Cheers
Work out a playlist that will encourage you to stick out your exercise session. You could pick one of your favorite songs to mark the halfway point of your workout, or you could choose several songs that increase in beats per minute as your workout progresses. Find music that makes you feel good and cheers you on, or even music that's heavy and pounding, as long as it gets you moving. Sing out loud — it will take your mind off the workout and let you enjoy the experience.
