Brown Rice Rocks!
The Sonoma Diet is all about learning to love healthy food and prepare fresh, homemade meals. Here's what one member had to say about her new favorite grain:

"I am on day 8 of The Sonoma Diet, but I don't think that it is really a diet at all. At least, I don't feel like I am missing out on anything. I have to admit, days 4, 5, and 6 were hard because I was going through some intense sugar withdrawal, but now I feel awesome! I am not as tired, and according to my family, I am not as moody either.I look forward to cooking, and everything is so delicious. I think what really makes this diet so amazing is that it is so easy to follow and there is little to no measuring. I love food, and The Sonoma Diet lets you really enjoy food.I have never been this excited about being on a 'diet.' I have lost 13 pounds to date*, and let me tell you, brown rice does rock."

Pass the Black Rice?

You've heard of brown rice, otherwise known as whole grain rice, but what in the world is black rice? Black rice is originally from Asia and comes in varieties known as Indonesian black rice, China black rice, and forbidden rice. It is rich in iron, high in fiber, and has a robust, nutty taste. Try it as a side dish, or with a rich sauce like our Vegetable and Garbanzo Curry.
