Denise Austin's Morning Stretch......


Fruity Sensation!
Ok, so it may not be summer anymore, but it's not too late to take advantage of last-minute summer fruit! Use fresh — or frozen, if you can no longer find fresh — strawberries and mangoes and whip up this refreshing and satisfying smoothie. The secret twist? Ginger, which gives it an extra kick! This easy-to-make shake is a perfect way to start your day — so have one for breakfast today!
Fruity Ginger Smoothie
Makes 3 cups

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups cubed mango

2 cups strawberries

1 tablespoon minced, candied ginger

2 tablespoons honey

1 cup soy milk or 1 percent milk

chilledPinch of ground allspice

2 strawberries (optional)
Directions:
In a blender, combine the mango, 2 cups strawberries, ginger, honey, soy milk or milk, and allspice. Process until smooth. Pour the mixture into 2 glasses. Garnish with whole strawberries (if using). Enjoy!
Per 1 1/2 cups: 191 calories, 3g fat, 42g carbohydrates, 4g protein, 4g fiber, 42g sodium
