Journaling
for Success

Great minds throughout the ages have kept daily diaries to understand their personal triumphs and challenges. I took a cue from these great thinkers when I began my journey to better health and purchased a set of journals to keep track of my meals, my workouts and my personal goals. These have proved to be important tools for attaining and maintaining my success. To this day I update my journals daily and enjoy sharing some of those entries with you on my
blog where I get to hear your feedback.

I have been asked many times over the years to provide a food journal for those following The Eat-Clean Diet and finally earlier this year, my publisher agreed to release one. I’m ecstatic to announce my newest project The Eat-Clean Diet™ Companion
– One Year of Support, Motivation and Encouragement to Achieve Your Goals! It has space for each of your Clean meals, sections for setting your short- and long-term goals, space for weekly shopping lists and motivational tips from me! You can preview and purchase the book here!

How journaling helps you achieve your health and fitness goals.

1. Accountability. Food journaling keeps you accountable for everything you put in your mouth. You don’t want to eat that giant chocolate chip cookie if you have to see it in black and white in your journal at the end of the day. Record your meals soon after you eat them to keep your journal accurate and honest!

2. Breaking Bad Habits. Journaling helps you recognize what your triggers are so you can change them. Before I started to Eat Clean, I was expressing every emotion I had with a small meal or treat for myself. If I wasn’t drowning my sorrows in food, I was celebrating with it and I had no idea that I had this habit until I started to record my meals with complete honesty.

3. Perspective. Keeping track of each of your meals shows you that one slip is not reason to throw an entire day away. You can’t erase the bad food choices you may make, but you can plainly see there are many meals ahead where you can redeem yourself. Journaling shows you that each meal is as a building block toward your larger goals.

4. Praise. One of the best parts of journaling for me is seeing how far I’ve come. With The Eat-Clean Diet™ Companion
’s yearly and monthly progress pages, you too can give yourself regular pats-on-the-back for a job well done. You deserve it!

Best Wishes,

Tosca Reno
