Kick It Up A Notch!

It’s a great pleasure to interact with all of you Eat-Clean Diet™ followers through Twitter, Facebook, and my blog everyday. It’s a great opportunity for me to learn from you!

Recently, I received a message through Twitter from Neo Lynch, a trainer in Atlanta, Georgia. She wanted to thank The Eat-Clean Diet™ for helping her maintain her awesome abs! Neo believes in making her workouts more fun by modifying the exercises she's already mastered. Here's her twist on a classic move: The Push-Up!

THE MOVE: The Push-Up

WHAT IT WORKS: Push-ups are an excellent multi-joint exercise that work your upper body.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: None (optional: dumbbells)

HOW TO DO IT:
Set Up: Get into a push-up position with hands shoulder-width apart and feet slightly apart. Keep a straight line from head to toe (A).

Action: Lower your upper body to the ground slowly until your chest is 3 inches from the ground. Push back up to the starting position (B).
Crank Up Your Push-Ups

THE TWIST*: From the start position (A), shift your weight to your left side, lift your right hand off the ground and pull your elbow up toward the ceiling in a one-arm row. Pause and return to start position (A). Do another full push-up, return to start position (A) and repeat this rowing move with your left arm. Separate your feet if you are having trouble balancing. This equals one rep. Try 3 sets of 10 reps. When you’ve mastered this you can add a dumbbell for an even greater challenge.

*Please note that this is an advanced exercise; so don’t try this until you’ve mastered the original move!
