Today's Small Change: Up the fun factor in your fitness routine.
Make Fitness Fun
Why do you exercise? It may be to lose weight, reduce stress, protect your health, or a combination of the three. But while you're trying to achieve results, you may be forgetting that fitness can be fun!

Here are a few ways to inject some fun into your regimen:

Listen in.
Slipping on your headphones can help you boost your workout. If you usually listen to music when you work out, try changing things up with a comedy tape, CD, or MP3 รข€” laughing will boost your endorphins as you exercise.
Change speeds. Walk as fast as you can between a couple of telephone poles, or jog for 20 steps every time you see someone walking a dog. The variety will make the time go by much quicker!
Be social. Sharing an activity with a friend not only makes it more fun but makes the time fly by. Invite someone to come along with you, or sign up for a group activity where you'll meet new people.
Try something new. Just because you've been walking for four weeks doesn't mean you have to keep doing that. Try swimming, biking, or even in-line skating instead, or play a sport like racquetball, volleyball, or tennis. A new activity will help keep things fun.
Act like a kid. Grab your kids and spend an hour outside with them. Play tag or pickup basketball, or go for a bike ride together. Or just act like a kid yourself. Grab the chalk and play a game of hopscotch, jump rope, or blast your favorite song and dance around your living room.

You may have discovered by now that even if you start your regular walk reluctantly, once you get going, you feel invigorated. Keep it up, and feel free to work in suggestions from this list whenever you need a little extra motivation!
