Mantras are sounds, words or phrases that calm us and direct our thoughts and actions. At Bikini Bootcamp, we use mantras to keep ourselves focused and renew motivation.
I Think I Can.
Remember the story of the little engine that could? By continuing to encourage itself with this mantra, "I think I can, I think I can," this small engine was able to pull a long, heavy train over a high mountain. This story teaches an important life lesson — by continuing to think encouraging thoughts and focusing on the positive, one can accomplish anything he or she decides to do.
So put this lesson into practice! Believe that you can change your eating habits and become more active — and that you can lose weight and keep it off. Telling yourself that you cannot do this is self-defeating and will turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Instead, tell yourself, "I know I can!" In fact, put this phrase up in your home, perhaps on the refrigerator or in your bedroom by the mirror — somewhere you will see it on a regular basis. It will remind you what you are capable of and keep you feeling inspired and determined!
