Today's Small Change: Get on board with support.
The Power of Two (or Three, or Four…)
If you've ever taken a group fitness class, you probably know how working out with other people can help keep you motivated. In class, you're surrounded by like-minded people who are all there to get in shape and have fun. You may even make new friends in class — going through the same challenging experience together is a great icebreaker.

It can be the same way with the Healthy Living With Ellie program! You may be doing the program with a friend or a spouse, or maybe you've persuaded a co-worker or two to join you on your lunchtime walks. These are great strategies for keeping you focused and supported, but even if you are doing the program on your own, you're not alone. There are plenty of other people out there in cyberspace who are working their way through the program just like you, and you can give each other meaningful support. Through the Healthy Living Message Boards, for example, you can ask questions of each other, exchange tips, and offer advice.

Interacting with other people over the Internet has actually been proven to help people lose weight. A study from Brown Medical School found that people who participated in a structured online weight-loss program in which they had continual contact with others lost three times as much weight over six months as people who just had access to weight-loss information online. And people in both groups (the contact group and the information group) who logged on to the study's Web site more frequently lost more weight than the people who logged on less often.

So you're already doing something great for yourself by participating in this program. Stay dynamically engaged with it by interacting with other participants — it feels good to work together as a group, and it just may boost your results even more.
