Down for the Calorie Count
What's your weight loss Achilles' heel? If exercise comes easy but food is keeping you from reaching your goal, it's time to break the calorie habit! Knowledge is power — start by learning exactly how many calories you're consuming each day. Here's what one of your teammates suggests:
"Get yourself The Calorie King book and carry a food log with you ALL THE TIME! Write down what you are eating before you actually put it in your mouth. I have to do this or I lose control. I have found that I make much better choices this way. I love bread and pasta and have found that I can still work them into my 1,200 calories a day."
When it comes to food, don't fake it — a kitchen scale and a calorie counter book are the best tools to keep you on track. Because seriously, it's all relative — what might look like a paltry serving to you could be enough to tip the scales in the wrong direction. And if you're craving grains, remember that a single serving should never be bigger than your fist!
