Cheat Your Way Fit
Take One for the Team
Exercise doesn't have to be a lonely endeavor. It's always more fun when other people are involved — even more so when you don't even notice you're working out because you're enjoying yourself. Ask your friends to join you for a quick game of softball, basketball, or beach volleyball or just about anything that gets your heart rate up. If your friends aren't interested, check your local community center or church group for teams and leagues that play sports on a regular basis.
Choose something you enjoy — whether it's softball, basketball, swimming, or tennis, you'll be burning calories and fat. You'll like the structure as well as the social element, and there's a little competitiveness in all of us, which will spur you to improve your game. If joining a team isn't an option, how about signing up to participate in a biking race or a charity event that involves walking or running? Having a clear-cut goal and a purpose! It might be just the motivation you need to get you to move.

Tip of the Day
Be a Leader

If there aren't any teams or leagues in your area, show a little initiative! You can start your own walking group, create a sports team, or organize dance or yoga lessons in your community. Get a bunch of friends together for Thursday night salsa dancing in your living room or in the local high school's gym. Everyone will appreciate the chance to exercise in a fun and innovative way.
