Best-Dressed Salad
Every lunch here at Bikini Bootcamp is a scrumptious and filling salad. Because salads usually start with vegetables, they're typically full of nutrients and low in fat and calories when they're on their own. The problem arises when we start adding dressings to the mix. Even a simple oil-and-vinegar dressing can convert a healthy dish into a dieting disaster! So no matter what type of dressing you're having, use it sparingly. Try this easy Bikini trick: Pour a small amount (no more than two tablespoons) into a small dish. Dip your fork into the dressing and then into your salad, using it to spread the dressing's flavor throughout the salad. You'll end up using much less than if you had poured dressing over your salad — without sacrificing on flavor.

Restaurant Salads
Unfortunately, you can't always be sure a restaurant salad is as nutritious as the ones you'll find at Bikini Bootcamp. So don't be shy about asking your waiter for more details: What type of dressing is used? Does it contain regular mayo? Do you have the nutrition information? You can also ask for your salad done the way you like it — for example, without cheese or with grilled chicken instead of meat. After all, the customer is always right!
