"It is wisdom to believe the heart."– George Santayana
About George Santayana
Spanish-American philosopher George Santayana is considered ahead of his time; his emphasis on naturalism and nonreligious spiritualism resonate more now than when he was writing. He was born in Spain in 1863. He was a popular professor at Harvard; his students included T.S. Eliot, Wallace Stevens, and Walter Lippmann. He is best known for the quote, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," from his book The Life of Reason. He died in 1952 in Rome.
