Mohr Results, Inc Newsletter
Is exercise on the back burner these days?

We were spoiled in Louisville yesterday--with temperatures reaching the mid 70's, but today was back to "normal"--cold and gray. It's of course also super hectic for most; with work, errands, shopping, and everything else. What does that mean for your exercise routine?

You of course obviously want to improve your health---that's why you're part of the Mohr Results Team. And improving your health doesn't mean letting go for this hectic season and "starting fresh" on January 1st. Here are 5 strategies to help you maintain your exercise program throughout this busy season and for the next few months as it's still a bit chilly in many parts of the world.

1. Find an exercise buddy--you'll be more likely to maintain your routine if you have some accountability.
2. Layer your clothes--it's only too cold outside if you don't have the right clothes. Pick up a dry fit shirt, wear a long sleeve over it, gloves, hat...whatever it takes. Remember that a majority of heat is lost through the head, so make sure to have some covering on your head.
3. Join a gym--it never snows inside a gym, so take advantage of that luxury.
4. Create your own program at home--working out doesn't have to be fancy. Try pushups (modified if need be), use your steps to do step ups, lunges, etc. Be creative! If you want a formal program, check out Turbulence Training by trainer, Craig Ballantyne--it gets the Mohr Results stamp of approval.
5. Exercise in the middle of the day--usually we suggest doing things first thing in the morning, but of course it's also darker (and usually colder) then. Enjoy some sun and get your activity done on your lunch break.
6. Remember short bouts work--make sure exercise bouts are at least 10 minutes each and these all add up to make a difference!

Remember, exercise is the best thing for stress and of course fantastic for health. Never let the day go by -- no matter who you are, the time of year, and anything else that may pop up, we have the same 24 hours each day. Map out your day and figure out how you will make time for exercise!
Best of health!
