Learn How to Keep
a Journal
Living a healthy lifestyle is richly rewarding, but no one ever said it was easy. Along the way, you'll have ups and downs — everyone does — and keeping a record of them is a great way to see how far you've come. That's why the Journal tool is such a useful part of my site. There you can record your progress in the program, any compliments you've received, and any positive goals you've met. Besides creating a record of how you're feeling, you'll be able to use your entries to learn more about your triggers (do you snack when you're stressed out at work?) and bad habits (can't say no when someone brings cheesecake to the office?), which you'll eventually rectify. And looking back on your journal entries may just give you an added boost of motivation the next time you're feeling lazy or unmotivated.

The biggest challenge to keeping a journal is remembering to do it! Next time you want to plop down in front of the tube, challenge yourself to write instead. You'll be amazed at how much better you feel afterward.
