Back to Nature
Just the Flax, Ma'am
Good news for those of you who don't like fish! You can get many of the same heart-healthy oils found in seafood from flaxseeds. Flax is packed with omega-3 fat and contains omega-6 as well, which means it may help protect your heart, strengthen your bones, and improve cholesterol and blood pressure levels, in addition to conferring a number of other health benefits. So try adding a little flaxseed or flax oil to your dishes, not just for flavor but for better health too! Remember that the health you want can be found in fruits, vegetables, and other natural items that are chock-full of all the daily necessities; vitamins, minerals, and all that other good stuff doesn't come sealed in a bag at the quickie mart. Keep flaxseeds or their oil on hand to bring more ! nature into your meals — and stay healthy.

Take It to Go
You can get the health benefits of flaxseeds from either flaxseed oil or ground flaxseeds. (Whole flaxseeds pass through your system without being broken down, so grind them — or buy preground seeds — to ensure your body is absorbing flax's healthy benefits!) Try using flax as a topping for your salad or baked into your bread for invisible health benefits. You can even toss some into a smoothie and drink your way to a better body.
