Jillian Michaels Tip of the Day!

Perk Up Your Pecs

We could all use a little pick-me-up in the pectoral region, right? As we age, certain areas may begin to droop a little — you know what I'm talking about, ladies. There's no reason to give gravity all the control, especially when you can defy gravity with some chest-pumping exercises like the classic push-up, the dumbbell chest press, and the chest fly.

JILLIAN'S TIP OF THE DAY
Push It Real GoodWhen doing push-ups, keep your back straight, your abs tight, and your eyes focused on the floor in front of you. Try to avoid doing "girl" push-ups (on your hands and knees). The classic version is much better because it forces you to use your core muscles; the "girl" version (sorry, ladies!) does not.
DANIELLE'S COMMENTS: Always start a set of push-ups on your toes, then go to knees when necessary. It's important to keep constant resistance (your body weight) on your chest. Stopping and starting over is not as affective as finishing your set in one shot!
