Do you have weight loss on your mind?
It's 104 degrees in Louisville today--not too conducive to outdoor activity, although that can't be an excuse for missing out on a workout. I was out early in the morning, when it was MUCH cooler (just 95 degrees) to run some bleachers on the University Campus. Glad that's out of the way!
What will you do for exercise this weekend?
Although it's of course not 104 degrees in all parts of the world, it's warm in most. But that can't be an excuse to skip your exercise. Think about what you can do to make exercise part of your weekend. Here are 5 tips to help you with your activity. Remember, if you don't make time for exercise, you'll sooner or later make time for illness!
Get out there very early or as late as possible, when it's a bit cooler.
Stick to the indoors--if you belong to a healthclub, make good use of it.
If you do have to go outside in the heat, stick to a shaded area.
HYDRATE (I know, not part of exercise, but if you don't hydrate, you won't be able to exercise)
Find an outdoor pool or lake and be active there.
The Ironman Triathlon is coming to Louisville this weekend--now THOSE are athletes who continued to make time for exercise for the last several months, in preparation for the grueling event.
